The Lovely Island of Nauru!

DRAFT: This module has unpublished changes.

I have not yet studied abroad, but I would love to visit Nauru. One of the reasons would be because it is not well known or advertised. It is also the only country without a capital. I want to experience something that I may not experience in another country, because I know it isn't well known it makes me motivated to see what it is about and experience their culture and their way of life. I am not really a fan of areas with too many people, I love peace and tranquility, hopefully if I do go to Nauru one day It may be what I've been looking for.

I have visited Haiti this past summer. I stayed there for six weeks. I felt that that was a good amount of time for a real summer vacation. It was such an enlightening experience. I went to various parts of Haiti, such as the North, South and West. In each area, everyone had a slight different way of living and speaking. The people in the North lived in a more modern area and spoke with an accent opposed to all the way everyone else spoke Creole. The south was more country like. The West had a little of both worlds.

I loved their holistic way of living. The food was natural. I would pick fruits and plantains out of the trees, drink fresh cherry juice almost everyday. The only downside from my perspective was the lack of water that was filtered through the process of osmosis. I was told if I were to drink of their country water I may get sick, but my family didnt really buy water everyday, so i would drink juice or soda most of the time. One thing I came to realize is that everything tasted different and by different I mean better. At night because there isnt electricity 24/7 the moon was really valued, being the main source of light for the night. The glittering stars were so breathtaking. It was such a memorable experience.
